The Kamakahelei Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Private Foundation organized for the purpose of raising funds to provide for the education, health, and welfare of Hawaiian communities and to protect and preserve Hawaiian culture and traditions. It was established in 2022 by their Royal Highnesses Prince Darrick and Princess Anna as the charitable arm of the House of Kamakahelei.

One of the main missions of the Foundation is to assist the Native Hawaiian people who are experiencing food insecurity.

The Foundation supports the Hawai’i Community foundation and the Hawai'i Foodbank. The Foodbank in particular, provides emergency food assistance to those in need. This was especially so after the worldwide pandemic and the devastating fires of 2023 on the Hawaiian island of Maui.

In August 2023, Prince Darrick volunteered at the World Community Kitchen near Lahaina, Maui.

The Prince was honoured to have been able to play a part in helping his people who experienced such terrible devastation.
